DESCRIPTION:

This book covers rocker arms, lifters, valves, valvesprings, retainers, guideplates, pushrods, and cam drives, as well as detailed information on how to degree a cam and choose the proper cam for your application. He covers camshaft basics, including a thorough explanation of how a cam operates in conjunction with the rest of the engine and valvetrain. Finally, matching cams to cylinder heads, analyzing port flow, and proving it all through dyno tests round out this informative volume.. Comparisons between roller and flat-tappet cams are addressed and analyzed. Graham Hansen, author of the best-selling SA Design title How To Build Big-Inch Chevy Small Blocks, takes the mystery out of camshaft and valvetrain function, selection, and design. He discusses technical terms like overlap, lobe centerline, duration, lift, and cam profiling

Corvette Enthusiast, January 2006"This book is a must have for anyone trying to squeeze all the available horsepower from the ever-popular small-block Chevy."

"Good but" according to A. Sattar Al Murshidi. It is a quality product , no doubt. The content is rich but could have been written in a simpler style for beginners like me. If you are the same level of me , an engineer with all the basics but new to engine building, you'll still need to read it at least twice before you get the drift. My benchmark for readability is the material published on HowStuff Works website. There they can talk about much more complex topics and still able to explain it better. No regrets though, still a good boo. "Not a bad book" according to Michael J. Walters. I built a Not a bad book I built a 383 stroker for my 68 ElCamino runs good. It did help me with setting up the roller rockers and choosing the correct ones. But it's actually cheaper to buy a crate motor with a warranty and you have tech support unless your a diehard.. 8Not a bad book I built a 383 stroker for my 68 ElCamino runs good.
