"It's fantastic. This book provides a WEALTH of information about" according to Mark. I wish this book had been available 10 years ago when I sought counselling for my problem drinking and was told that the optimal solution was AA and abstinence. I could tell immediately that AA wasn't for me. I was abstinent for about 7 years but eventually began drinking again because of intense craving. Since discovering Naltrexone I've developed the ability to control my drinking and to engage in it socially. It's fantastic. This book provides a WEALTH of information about MATs (Medically Assisted Treatments) currently approved and available,. Helpful Info Really glad to be learning more about the methods for treating alcoholism. This book looks at anti-alcoholism drugs that are effective yet most people overlook them and don’t have much awareness of them. It has definitely helped open my eyes and see that there is hope. The range of drugs explored is vast and I’m really glad that I was able to find such a helpful resource. If you are like me and have someone who suffers from alcoholism, the information here will be very beneficial. Thumbs up for this one.. "A great read for all" according to Val. I am sure this book will help to save many lives. Everything revolving around alcoholism makes a lot more sense after reading this book. This author helped me to realize that medication is the closest cure to alcoholism. A Prescription for Alcoholics is very different from the "put an end to your bad habits, go to AA, and then relapse again" books. This book truly aims to put an end to alcoholism in one shot by addressing alcoholism as the disease that it is.
