It helps you identify things that triggers you to smoke and suggests tips to avoid those triggers. I quit smoking 2 years ago after being a smoker for more than 20 years. (I downloaded this book for my wife as she still has problem quitting.) I too found using the nicotine gum an ineffective way to kick the habit (see Chapter 6). I did it 'cold-turkey' just like what this book suggested in Chapter 3. To me that's the only way. However, most people do prefer a plan. This book formulates a personal 'stop smoking' plan to help you quit while minimizing withdrawal sympt. Valuable book for me Brian Zephyr Quitting smoking is not easy because smoking is addictive. You cannot do it overnight. For some it takes a long time to stop or totally quitting it. I bought this book with a purpose of getting a reliable ideas how to, if not quitting at all, at least minimize my smoking habit. I believe this is a good new year resolution I can have for myself and for my family as a whole. I have promised it last year that I will quit smoking but I did not pursue it. I am so sorry. And here I am again with this new hope and with this book. The book is so helpful to me. It has the ideas how to cope with cigarette cravings. There are ideas about treat. IT WORKS I'm so happy.I began reading this book, and in all honesty got halfway through, and said "this is my last cigarette", and that was really itI am now 3 days cigarette free. I was a smoker for 7 years. I tried to quit 100's of times. This book is my savior !! For the first time, I feel like I might live now to see my kids grow up! I'm very comfortable with it. I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it. Just read the book !
