It is intended for upper-division college students in materials science, electrical and chemical engineering. The book is fairly easy to read, the math is not too complicated, and the text is accompanied by a lot of figures, tables, references, and charts. Topics covered include crystal structures and defects, different methods for growing semiconductor crystals, analysis of semiconductors, diffusion and ion implantation. There are homework problems at the end of each chapter, along with example
