Lev Raphael said Not Entertaining Enough--and Oxford's Production is Substandard. Skip this book if you're considering it after enjoying the Amazon series. Fellowes has taken an overlong novel (for its content) and made it tight, funny, incisive. And if you're already a fan of Trollope's you might be disappointed with this novel if you've read the wonderful Palliser series, The Way We Live Now, or He Knew He Was Right. The main driver is boy loves girl; boy needs money; girl doesn't have any; guess what happens next? Trollope takes way too long to set .
