Michael Johannes Ochs…gives more than ample explanation of the steps involved, including diagrams of chemical changes; he likewise includes practical information about the process today….a handsome little book. Filled with great pictures and laid out in an orderly way, the book walks you through the process. (Eco Brooklyn) . The book also has a great introduction to the Moroccan culture that surrounds the wall plaster, showing they are deeply connected. (Artisphere)The book Tadelakt is an excellent resource for discovering this old art. (Interior Design)Well written…cludes many good photos of completed works…highly recommend
Earthwhile Being said nice for coffee table, light on content for serious readers though. This book has loads of lovely arty colour photos, great for the coffee table but is light in content. The typeset layout has the text column taking only one third of the page width, and the entire text would fit into an essay of less than ten pages (by my guesstimation). There is a nice intro that sets tadelakt into the context of Morroccan culture . "A top pick for serious architecture and crafts libraries alike" according to Midwest Book Review. TADELAKT: AN OLD MOROCCAN PLASTER TECHNIQUE NEWLY DISCOVERED is a top pick for serious architecture and crafts libraries alike, offering a survey of an ancient Moroccan plaster technique. Michael Johannes Ochs is an expert in the technique, and here describes its history, uses, and how to use the plastering technique in all kinds of settings. Color. "Great intro to Tadelakt" according to Amazon Customer. Like another reviewer, I would say this book is nicely decorated and heavy on pictures. Perhaps a little light on content, but I think it serves its purpose well enough; it gives a good description of the history, culture in which it developed, chemistry and application. The bulk of knowledge beyond that, from what I gather, is something best found
This book offers a step-by-step approach to the technique, as well as a close look at its roots and the cultural traditions associated with it. 78 color photos. The first comprehensive description of an old Moroccan plaster technique that creates unique, sensual, natural effects. A truly remarkable material and technique, tadelakt is a traditional plaster that offers versatile design possibilities and an exquisite surface finish
