DESCRIPTION:

Delighted to see this wonderful book in a "revisited" edition MagyarIrodalom I had read the original "States of desire" in the early 1980's and it helped me immensely, both in hindsight of places I'd already been to as well as for the future concerning other places I was planning to visit. I was rather curious why the emerging AIDS crisis had not been covered or even mentioned at that time since the book seemed to timely in every other way.Now having written and self-published four gay-themed books myself in later life, I was delighted to see "States of Desire Revisited" published with a foreword and epilogue which beautifully updates and puts into perspective this monumental work

"Edmund White is one of the few living writers who has the capacity to turn me into a good listener. States of Desire is consistently smart and funny."Fran Lebowitz
