The sex stories in I Once Had a Master combine a hard-core sensibility with rare psychological insight. In "Authenticity," a top turns down two fawning bottoms in full leather regalia in favor of the sweet-faced novice who offers genuine surrender. In books such as the S/M classic Mr. John Preston brings it back to the basics: a hand on a neck, a boot that needs a spit shine, a trick who leaves with bruises and sweet memories. Benson, Preston explored power exchange in all its battered beauty. The lonely bottom in "Interludes" develops his body to perfection, then seeks out the Daddy who will cherish this gift.. In "Pedro," a college boy has a summer affair with a truck driver and finds himself flirting with other men just to provoke his lover’s rage
A Customer said This is what D/s is about to me. It's so easy to wander out into pure fantasy when writing about D&s. While i'm sure he embelished a bit for effect (what author doesn't), Preston captures so wonderfully the ecstacy that comes from releasing control and been totally dominated (even when writing from a Top's perspective). Highly recommended to the novice; it's about as real a perspective on domination and submission as you can expect in erotica.. short stories a glimpse into sub-subculture this is a compendium of short stories, each a bit of insight into one facet of the gay subculture. there are heart breaking stories as well as others that are a close look at the seedy underbelly present in some cases. Overall it is a good read that I enjoyed. and an education to boot. I wish I had read this book 30 years ago then maybe I wouldn't have made some of the same mistakes.. excellent book, giving a good feel of the 24/7 SM lifestyle A Customer The John Preston books are all must-haves. With some embelishments on reality, which make nice reading - yet the foundation is sound. At very worst it is where the slaves heart is.
