He worked at new York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's great art museums, and was its director for a while. In his work there and elsewhere, he came across many fakes, forgeries, and copies, many but not all of which he recognized, He prides himself as a "fakebuster," and he se. Chris Frost said Interesting, but falls a little short. Thomas Hoving seems to know his art, and doesn't have any qualms about sharing his knowledge.
