After 30 years of battling with binging, purging & starving, I think I can safely say that this author knows what she's talking about. Not only were my feelings validated by her observations, but she also gave extremely helpful information about how my body utilizes food. The author really homes in on the importance of a good self-image and positive feelings. Without these no other change would be lasting. I really got that by the end of the book. I also liked her stress on the need for patience and on understanding the body and its needs. The only criticisms I have are that the way it was written was not very clear.
