A really fascinating and comprehensive book of ground-breaking chairs! designlovingdude I really loved the Fiells' earlier book on chairs, but this one is even better being completely up-to-date and featuring the latest and most innovative seating designs from recent years. This book is also single-language which means there is a lot more text per entry and the images are really first rate. More than anything though it is the selection of chairs that makes this book stand out, first off it is an all-new selection and while there are lots of well-known designs featured, there are also lots of c. B. Olson said Just Another List of Chairs. It appears that Charlotte and Peter Fiell have severed their ties with Taschen, started their own publishing company in England and created yet another list of Modern Chairs from 1800 to present. This book is a little grander in size and quality of binding from than their earlier book, but I think this latest publication has left off some of the great classics by Schinkel, Thonet, Saarinen, Lutyens and others. They would have been better off adding to their original list, rather than maintaining a goal of 1
