In 1991 I earned my Private Pilot license to fly single engine land aircraft. During that tour we met the late President Cheddie Jagan in his Office. This was a new beginning for Guyana after twenty eight years of Peoples National Congress governance, which saw many Guyanese leaving the shores of Guyana for better opportunities. In 1992 I went to Guyana with the Sunrise Touring Cricket team to play several cricket matches in a two week time frame. I never really gave it much thought at the time, but it was a seed which was planted in my mind, and Guyana was where I was born, and where I felt a connection with the environment, be it the tropical air, the tropical sun, the outdoors living and natural environment, but there was a connection.
