A fine and solidly recommended work of lesbian fiction The lemons and lemonade analogy often rings all too true. "Angels and Manners" tells of Carrie, a divorced mother of two who is trying to make the most of her life with her sons. Also spiraling out of a divorce is Jen, who is suddenly well below her comfort level with her daughter. When she meets Carrie, it's abrasive at first, but their situations are all too similar and they soon learn that nothing is given to you and you make the most. Ageless and Timely Angels and Manners is a novel set in the headlines of our daily lives, a time, sadly, sometimes lacking either, at least so it seems to Jen and Carrie. These two women are struggling to deal with the harsh realities dealt straight from those headlines. Jen arrived in section eight housing with her teenaged daughter, both set down in a scary landscape of foodstamps and foraging Goodwill stores from a comfortable upper middle class securit. Laugh out loud funny Everyone has those authors that they just cannot wait for their next release. Well for me, Cynn Chadwick is one of those authors. I loved getting to know all the characters in her Galway North Carolina series. Angels & Manners is not connected to her first three novels.
