Best book I have read on the subject This book holds the reader's interest on almost every page and gives a convincing understanding of Amelia Earhart's temperament as well as of her husband's. For the first time, I really got a clear understanding of the ambitious people they were and of the commercial background of their projects.I had learned from other books that Amelia was not a born aviator and did not hav. "Excellent Bio of AE -- and GP" according to Tom King. I'd been told by an authority that this was the best Earhart bio, and I think it is. I especially appreciate the attention it gives to George Palmer Putnam, who's too often ignored or vilified. And uniquely, it pointed me to GP's pseudonymous "Cruise of the Kawa," which is really a hoot.. KAH said Enthralling. I have always wanted to read a biography of Amelia Earhart and, after searching various reviews, I learned that this biography is judged by many to be the best. I can wholeheartedly support this recommendation. Mary Lovell does an excellent job of 'getting under the skin' of both of her main characters: Amelia and George Putnam.
