DESCRIPTION:
Packed with over 900 table, charts, and drawings, the Handbook covers air quality control, water supply, wastewater disposal, solid waste management, storm-water, and hazardous waste management. It's a must-have reference for anyone who needs to understand, manage, or evaluate environmental engineering technology.. The first major handbook covering the entire field of environmental engineering Written by 36 leading experts in the field, this ``hands-on'' reference provides complete coverage of the latest environmental engineering practices, and includes up-to-date information on legislation and quality criteria to help you establish and prioritize your work goals and objectives
Not a very useful book This book tries to cover so many subjects that it covers none of them well. Most chapters are full of generalities rather than the details needed by a practicing engineer or student. The worst feature of the handbook is the index, which contains so few entries that it is very difficult to find information on a topic or determine if the book even mentions it, which often it doesn't. Rather than buy this expensive handbook, I would suggest investing in standard references for the individual topics (e.g. wastewater treatment, solids waste) in which you are interested.
