Only thing is, they don't explicitly say that you are supposed to move the landing gear handle to the neutral, "off" position before you touch down. Neutral position effectively locks the hydraulics, securing the gear in the up or the down position. The book was written for new pilots transitioning from AT-6 Texan (advanced trainer) to their first fighter. Best thing I've seen on the P-40 so far is "How to Fly the P-40" out there on YouTube or Zenos Warbird Drive-in, also on the web.Good luck and good hunting! ATB.
