Even if you have never sailed before you will know what it is like after reading this.There is an excellent prologue explaining the Gulf Stream - its' effects on the ocean and sailing and the weather. Even if you do not know the technicalities of sail, the explanations that are in the story are well done, simple and interesting and add to the action.
