Wouldn't wasted my money or time Wouldn't wasted my money or time,if I'd seen this in the bookstore. The print on the pages, were crooked. And there was only about 3 real photos, that I already had. No real info about local people who were involved in the making of this railroad. I grew up on this abandoned rail line, and have known the descendants of people who helped, and were on the first ride to Pacific(Franklin). My Family, lived there when it was built. I know more than the lousy author.. Pacific Railroad of Missouri Excellent history of The Pacific Railroad - predecessor of The Missouri Pacific. Well researched and an easy read. Anyone interested in railroading in the 1800's will love this book.. Ron said Don't waste your money.. Not worth eight cents much less eight dollars. A little more than 60 pages some of which is pictures. If I spend $8.00 on a book about the history of a railroad as important as the Pacific Railroad I expect much more than a few pages. This to me is an attempt by the members of a small historical society to raise money for their pizzas at monthly meetings.
