DESCRIPTION:
Not perfect, but an entertaining keeper B. Rabkeb I like this book. I read it online a number of years ago, and was in the mood to read it again, so I went out and bought it. And I'll hang on to it. I like how it deals with family. I'm entertained by the setting and it's also not a bad set-up: Lauren is hired to be Dev's (the new President's) biographer, naturally forcing them to spend a lot of time together. Of cour. Sandy D. said Excellent read. Thoughtful, humorous at times, very entertaining. Very well written.. Terrific book A Customer This is a wonderful book. The premise alone is intriguing. The US finally elects a woman president and she's an out lesbian and single mother. The thing is that the book makes it seem so plausible. The story draws you in and wraps you around the characters. You want to see what's going to happen on the next page and you care about what is happening to these two people
Breaking with the tradition of hiring a political writer to chronicle her administration, President Marlowe selects Lauren Strayer, a professional biographer with a reputation for absolute honesty. Devlyn Marlowe, the first woman President of the United States, has just been elected. Lauren, her incredibly ugly pug dog and her computer take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, where she begins to understand and eventually love the complex woman who is both the leader of a great nation and the mother of three children.
