Surprisingly out of date I had to quickly select a textbook to teach a basic networking class in the spring of 2013 for a graduate program. This book seemed to fit the bill. Entitled "Networking Basics" and the latest copyright date was 2013. Sounds great, I didn't have time to get a review copy prior to the start of the semester so I just took a chance and ordered it, and had my students follow suit.While the book does have a lot of good information, it goes way beyond networking basics.
