DESCRIPTION:
The book consists of eleven parts—each part containing a series of focused lectures and ending with bibliographic comments, problems, and computer projects with MATLAB solutions available to all readers. Additional features include:Numerous tables, figures, and projectsSpecial focus on geometric constructions, physical intuition, linear-algebraic concepts, and vector notationBackground material on random variables, linear algebra, and complex gradients collected in three introductory chaptersComplete solutions manual available for instructorsMATLAB solutions available for all computer projectsAdaptive Filters offers a fresh, focused look at the subject in a manner that will entice students, challenge experts, and appeal to practitioners and instructors.. Now, preserving the style and main features of the earlier award-winning publication, Fundamentals of Adaptive Filtering (2005 Terman Award), the a
CK said Best in the field. A very excellent book. I purchased the older version "Fundamentals of adpative filtering" after reading all the positive reviews of it. The claity with which that book is written continues in this one which is an update of that one. There is not a line here that you will say Ha?. All is made clear if not simple. This is just about the finest engineering book that has ever been written, bar none. Highly recommended.. Plenty of examples, but not well motivated and sometimes confusing Disclaimer: I took a course using this book and only studied the first three parts (optimal estimation, linear estimation and stochastic gradient algorithms).Part I of the book covers optimal least mean squares (i.e. MMSE) estimation of a quantity given some set of observations. It concludes that, in the general case, the optimal estimator is very difficult to compute. This leads to Part II, Linear Estimation, in which the central theme is to linearly estimate some quantity given a set of observations. . Excellent book Adequately explained the basic concepts of adaptive filters. Provide enough example to self study. I have recently started working in the areas of adaptive filter algorithms and this book really helps me getting up to speed with them. Highly recommended for graduate students and practicing engineers.
