She captures the essence and nuance of Venice & Venetians. I found this book a little slow in the mid section, but it picked up the pace & my interest in the last few chapters.. It was slower and did not hold my interest like other books of hers This book was still interesting to read but much less so than other books of Commissario Brunetti.
