Lives up to the title! L. Smith This is a fantastic book to help people understand the terribly complex subject of chronic pain. I hate that the Kindle version prompted such poor ratings, because the actual content of the book is excellent. I have the print version. Refer to reviews of the original version, most of which are 5-star ratings. As a psychologist treating chronic pain, and training soon-to-be psychologists, I'm always looking to deepen my understanding of pain processes, and strategies for self management. This book is incredibly helpful. In addition to increasing my own knowledge, this book also provi. mmmmmmm said Well, it explains pain. I'm conflicted about this book. I have chronic pain, this book did not tell me anything that will change that. If I hadn't already taken physiology in college nor didn't already read every medical article I could about my and related problems maybe this work would be more informative in explaining pain. For me it was a nice dumbing down of the physiological process of pain But I don't feel it helped me to effect my pain. I'm not extremely clear on why so many physical therapists (including my own) are so enthusiastic about this book.As for the book price, O.M.G. As for the Kindle ed. Not about the content, just the kindle version You guys need to stop selling this Kindle version--it is unreadable--I look forward to demanding a refund from Amazon
