A great start Steven Byrne Bissell and Royce have provided a much needed resource in this area. Especially pertinent are the sections addressing the competence of "recovered" addicts to counsel others. I would like to have seen some space devoted to analysis of case studies, such as the ones that were merely presented in the appendix. Perhaps in a future volume?
