"This book is a visual treat" 'This book shows just how powerful a simple black and white image can be and provides a fascinating chronicle of British Life.' "With stunning black and white images of England's people, places and architecture, this nostalgic pictorial tribute will appeal to anyone with an interest in modern British history or an appreciation of Gay's impressive body of work"
"Beautifully produced paperback." according to Mr J A Cordingley. This is a book of photos representative of the time and places in which John Gay worked - up until 1999. The production of the inside front and back cover pictures is innovative and sets the high standard of production for a paperback. You won't consider all to be 'great' photos that you wish you had taken. Some sections of the book are 'stronger' than others so I wish there had been more on 'Railways' and 'Cast Iron' for instance. Nevertheless it's a good book to have on your bookshelf. Why only Beautifully produced paperback. Just looked at this book again, and I do think it's swell. John Gay photographed landscapes, architecture, street scenes, all reproduced here beautifully in rich, warm grays and blacks. Fine quality. A new copy ships from England for only $20.27 inclusive, so it's a great buy.
