DESCRIPTION:
What he doesn’t count on is being caught himself by a web of lies—and his attraction to Raze. He finds some solace in his work as a medic at Thirst, a vampire club known for its rough clientele. But his carefully structured world turns upside down when he meets a mysterious male who makes him want what he can never have. As a Seminus demon, Raze’s life literally depends on having sex with females. Thankfully, he and his best friend, Fayle, have an arrangement that keeps him alive if lonely. The problem is that he doesn’t desire females, and it’s physically impossible for him to be with males. Raze and Slake must navigate a dangerous world to be together. All he has to do is capture a runaway succubus named Fayle and hand her over to her family. But he also wants to earn back the soul he sold when he was a much different demon. But as Fayle’s jealousy of their relationship turns deadly, they find themselves embroiled in a battle not only for their love, but their lives and souls.. Slake is an assassin used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is Raze
Another great Demonica Story 30somthgmomof2 As others might have been I was a little questioning on how a homosexual relationship was going to work romantic and mating wise with a Semimus demon. You did not disappoint Mrs. Ione. This was a very well written but very unconventional supernatural romance. I would not expect any less from this fantastic author. I read cover to cover without skipping over anything (I didn't want to miss a word) in a day. Given that kind have a toddler at home this means I had to use the audio version just to get through it, but I just couldn't stop reading it.My only negative about this book wasit wasn't long enough. . All you Basic desires are part of who you are Linnea Grönstrand Well, a short story is always too short, and ends before you want it to.Not as vulgar as some M/M stories I've read (and I usually just put them aside), and clearly written for the tastes of a female reader, Base Insticts is more a story about not denying who you are at heart than just another story with a lot of 'pointless' sex scenes. Our heroes are, at least I in my opinion, interesting characters. I also liked that one of them is a new breed of demons in the Demonica-world, and the female/male dynamics in that species is yet another take on gender "different" that we've come to expect from Ione. And . My favorite world! I have read all of Larissa Ione's books at least once and most of them more than once. I love her Demonica world. The characters are strong and fully developed and the stories are such big rides they are something I have to prepare for before starting a new book. I loved Base Instincts and thoroughly enjoyed Raze and Slake's story. I could not have been more surprised at who helped Slake out but it was Perfect! Loved this book and can't wait for the next Demonica story to come out. It can't be soon enough!
