DESCRIPTION:
Mitchell is young, black, educated, and gay. Highly recommended for both gay- and black-literature collections. He works on a magazine, lives in a nice Manhattan apartment, and runs around with a group of men like himself. From Booklist Mitchell Crawford's fantasy has always been to have a B-boy. Charles Harmon. For him, B-boys stand on street corners daring anyone to invade their territory, dress to thrill, move to a rhythm all their own, and, loud and boisterous, "speak to be heard, not so much to be understood." Now, you don't think of any tough black street boy as being gay, don't often read about very different segments of the bl
Funny, but too much personal thoughts about the race issue So. Calif book reader I couldn't give Mr. Hardy's book a 5 because he wouldn't expect it of me. I'm white. He seems to think that all white people do is oppress and repress black people. Yes, his book is funny and I liked it very much. But he uses every opportunity he can to project reverse discrimination in the pages. If he wants to write a book about black oppression in America, do it, but don't use his B-Boy series as a soapbox. I found it offensive. He doesn't want to let the black/white issue go and slams whites every chance he has. Are we all guilty therefo. Very Jood! Kindle Customer This is a very entertaining novel. It is yet another testament that love comes in many packages and who are we to judge. I am just about done with "2nd Time Around" and it's wonderful watching Raheim grow. Can't wait to see how it ends.. Very very jood Mr. Hardy did a very jood jod for it to be his first novel. As a young gay male going through the same identity crisis as Rahiem was. It kept my attetion and I did not want to put it down. Its not just a book for the Gay, its a book for the people.
Hardy's debut novel about the lives of black gay men in New York City is unabashedly and unapologetically written for the African-American male. Rough, sexy, humorous, and authentic, B-Boy Blues is a first-rate love story.
