This book had the potential to be the new go-to education source on transgender identity, but instead it joins a time-honored tradition of treating transsexual identity as the only truly valid transgender form.If you read this book, I strongly urge you to do additional reading on the experiences and needs of non-transsexual transgender people, such as genderqueer folks.As someone who does transgender education work myself, I firmly believe this field has progressed to a point where we can fin. I've been friends with transgenders and I never wanted to ask all kinds of questions. I keep watching Caitlyn show but they only seem to give one side of how they feel. They tell Caitlyn you have to be Democrat and on certain things they say "nobody's business". This book answered a lot of my questions and thing I wondered about. I always thought transgenders have courage like no one else because of all the physical things they have to go through. I still think they have more courage than other people. I could never go through things like that.. "Highly recommend" according to Dr. Richard J Maw. Excellent book. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to start learning about this topic.
