Good, but too much linux JJS I myself am not the biggest Microsoft fan, but the authors of this book take it to a whole new level. In discussing different server tasks they often go out of their way with little side notes and other comments to make sure we know how awful Microsoft is and how great Linux is. I think it kind of detracts from the book overall, which is pretty good. After the first few times where their comments are funny, the subsequent comments just get annoying. Another issue with their Linux-obsession is that they assume coming in that people who read this book will have a fairly good working knowledge of Lin. "Specific topics, but broad range - very useful" according to Francis C Irving. This book is a great book to have around to help solve some of the problems encountered day to day. I haven't found a topic that hasn't been covered in this book, and the authors hit the nail on the head when describing subjects. This is a great book for anyone who deals with multi-platform networks. I reach for it first every time I see a current or potential problem. 90% of the time I can just use this book instead of having to search through topic-specific manuals and references.. "The Complete SysAdmin" according to Theodore Scott. Excellent text on the duties of a SysAdmin. Easy to comprehend, concise and covers the realm of duties in detail. Chapters are organized to allow quick and easy access for reference. If you are a SysAdmin or if you are going to be one - Buy this Book!Theo
