Like it but don't love it. I thought it was the same book I had once before by the same author, but it's not. It doesn't have as much detail and information on conditions as the book I had, and it's more like an encyclopedia. However, I like it fairly well - but I don't love it.. "skin deep indeed" according to Voracious Reader. This book added nothing to my understanding of how to treat my skin concerns: it was, in fact, really just a dictionary of skin conditions and treatments with none of the opinion or ideas needed to facilitate medical or cosmetic understanding or decisions.
There certainly is enough updated information to warrant libraries replacing the first edition (called Skin Deep: An A-Z Encyclopedia of Skin Disorders, 1996).The few images are clear black-and-white drawings.
