DESCRIPTION:
Starting out as a Nash model, it later was offered through Hudson dealers before becoming a separate make in its own right. From 1950-1969 more than four million Ramblers were produced. Includes a detailed history of the company, written by Patrick Foster- America's premier AMC historian. Several small cars were introduced by American companies in the 1950s but only the Rambler was successful. You'll love it!. Rambler set a sales record for independent makes that remains unbroken even today. In this exciting new book, exquisite photographs illustrate models throughout the entire lifespan of the modern Rambler
American Motors, Rest in Peace GRH "Ex WHA Jet" American Motors & Rambler had some of the very best publicity pictures and brochures in the 1950s and 1960s. They depict the cars in everyday use, which seems appropriate, given that the Rambler was not exactly a dream car; rather, it was the epitome of the "daily driver". I find the Ramblers of the late 1950s particulary interesting, with their aggressive chrome grills, and of course, the tailfins. One more note about depicting the cars in everyday use; the photos usually included a pretty young women, something that one never sees in today's politically correct era. Of special . Another good book in the series Again, some color photos would have rated 5 stars. There are no pictures of prototype models here, and only one photo of a most interesting failure, the Marlin. But you just don't see Ramblers anymore, and they were really good looking cars, unlike any others, especially in the 60's. I encourage Rambler and/or independent make fans to buy this book. There is of course, a good introduction and lots of knowledgeable text throughout.. "Rambler" according to Calamity. This book made a great birthday gift for my father who bought a lot of Ramblers when we were young. He enjoys looking at the pictures and remembering the cars we used to have.
