Teen Reads said MED HEAD is an inspirational story, and I agree with Patterson when he calls Cory a hero. MED HEAD, James Patterson and Hal Friedman's young adult version of the #1 New York Times bestseller AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE, is about a boy's experiences growing up with the rare neurological disorder of Tourette's Syndrome with OCD. It's a private view of Cory Friedman's home and school life as told by Cory himself, from age five through his post-high school years.Cory is five years old when his troubles begin. While playing a video game, he feels his first compulsion to jerk his neck. It is involuntary, caused by "miswiring of his brain," and is one of the many tics and physical and verbal compulsions his mind would present through t. GREAT READ ABOUT TOURETTE SYNDROME A. MILLER I ordered this book awhile back and ended up LOVING IT! It's a different story than most with Tourette Syndrome. I'm always looking for a good read, especially about Tourette's. I have TS also, and it is always a great thing to read someone else's experience. He goes through how he went through tons of meds and how they affected him. It was a fast and easy read, and it's so good. I would read it as a parent, friend, spouse, or someone with TS.. version of the original book and they did a great job with it This is the teen version of the original book and they did a great job with it. If your reading reviews, you already know that this is based on the actual life of a young man that grew up with several neurological disorders, mainly Tourette Syndrome. It is done so well and is very inspirational to all those that have similar experiences. Our family has the same genetic code as "Cory" in this story, both my sister, mother, and now my son suffered with TS and if you are raising a child with this disorder or have family members or close friends, this is a book you will not be able to put down. I held my breath through much of it. My own s
