Norm said Good book on the history of Apollo. good book, I worked on the Apollo Project. Met Buzz on two occasions. It's a sad, sobering read (pun intended) The first part of this book was wonderful and an evocative and sensitive retelling of what by now has to be an old, old story for Mr. Aldrin -- the trip to the moon and back. The restnot so much.people use the word "honest" here, and certainly Mr. Aldrin pulls no punches about some of the negative aspects of his life after NASA -- the drinking and depression, which it sounds like has been pretty treatment-resistant. And honestly, the thought of a man with the brains of Buzz Aldr. "Interesting, Informative and Enjoyable" according to Gary Milgrom. This is an interesting and enjoyable read. Dr. Aldrin's space adventures are finished by page 58; the bulk of the book is devoted to the story of Buzz finding something worthwhile to do after "doing everything" (walking on the moon) at an early age.Buzz is very gracious in the book. He writes thankfully about the influence of Ed White in his career decisions and John Houbolt's contribution to the Apollo program, then laughs about being "the first Buzz on the moon."
