From the Back Cover Now in its third edition, Hydrology and Floodplain Analysis continues to offer a clear and up-to-date presentation of the fundamental concepts and design methods required to understand hydrology and floodplain analysis. It addresses the computational emphasis of modern hydrology and provides a balanced approach to important applications in watershed analysis, floodplain computation, flood control, urban hydrology, stormwater design, and computer modeling. Updated coverage in the third edition includes: Three New ChaptersChapter 1: Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Chapter 2: Use of NEXRAD Radar DataChapter 3: Floodplain Management Issues in HydrologyA new, detailed case study of a complex watershed using GIS linked with radar technology.New tools and technologies used for watershed analysis, hydrologic modeling, and m
GordonR said Great hydrology textbook - recommended for all. Hydrology and Floodplain analysis is one of the best hydrology textbooks available. I first worked with this book in college and have been using it ever since as a practicing hydrologist and environmental engineer. The textbook is thorough and detailed with excellent examples and case studies. It has a perfect balance between theory and application. I highly recommend this book for all students interest. Great product for Surface Hydrology Material is very easy to read. Methods such as convolution and storage indication are simplified for easy comprehension. Examples are useful and extremely helpful.. great Joshua Bayona Bbook is great. Explains all concepts of beginning and complex hydrology clearly and effectively. The book relates concepts to real world applications.
Includes HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM models plus GIS and radar rainfall.. For undergraduate and graduate courses in Hydrology. It addresses the computational emphasis of modern hydrology and provides a balanced approach to important applications in watershed analysis, floodplain computation, flood control, urban hydrology, stormwater design, and computer modeling. This text offers a clear and up-to-date presentation of fundamental concepts and design methods required to understand hydrology and floodplain analysis
