Awesome romance, awesome cultural narrative. Jessie Chandler Great book by a great writer. Lynch's ability to draw out emotion in the reader is top notch, and her ability to cast light on a culture in a completely accessible way is great. The romance was the icing on the cake. Thank you, Katie!. "It's nice to see an LGBTQA love story between millenials" according to kathleen g. well written and entertaining. It's nice to see an LGBTQA love story between millenials. That said, I was a bit distracted by the unrealistic portrayal of the life of a dual MD/PHD student and found it highly unlikely a young woman living in NY would have had such a limited exposure to "ethnic" food. I liked Min, Sue, and the rest of the supporting cast but Dad was unbelievably rotten in so many ways. I'd like to see more from Lynch.. Great story I really enjoyed this story. The look into Chinese America was very interesting and makes me want to try to understand more about traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese astrology. Chinatown, the parade, the foods all are part of this experience and so well written I felt I was there. The two lead characters, each brought different life experiences to the book.

But can Sutton and Jane overcome a scandalous secret that threatens to keep them apart?. Jane opens a whole new view of family to Sutton, a powerful counter to Sutton’s cold, sterile upbringing.
